EPISODE 9
Aaliyah: Haunted Premonition
On August 25, 2001, Aaliyah had finished shooting her new music video, “Rock the Boat” in the Bahamas. She was scheduled to leave the following morning, but with filming completed early, the young singer was eager to get home to her boyfriend, Roc-a-Fella Records CEO Damon Dash, and wanted to catch a private jet back to Miami that day.
Shortly before the flight took off, a heated argument erupted between the pilot and her video crew. He warned the group the aircraft was severely overloaded with luggage and video equipment and was too dangerous to fly.
However, the group insisted they needed to fly home immediately. So, at 6:50 pm, Aaliyah along with the members of her record company boarded the plane at Marsh Harbor Airport to take the quick flight back to Florida.
A few minutes later, witnesses watched the plane taxi down the runway and slowly climb to 50 feet when the aircraft suddenly veered to the left, and plummeted nose-first into a marsh and burst into flames.
When emergency teams arrived minutes later, they found Aaliyah’s body 20 feet from the fuselage. She was pronounced dead at the scene along with five other passengers, and the three more would tragically die just a few hours later.
Join us on a supernatural journey as we explore the short but memorable life of Aaliyah. We uncover the shocking details, examine the mystical facts, and investigate her haunting premonition only weeks before the fatal crash.
This is Death by Misadventure.
